A silver-mounted porcelain tankard, Meissen, circa 1730 Cylindrical white porcelain mug with a strap handle. Fine kakiemon decoration with partially gilded "indianische Blumen". The handle begins as a raised palm frond with manganese highlights. Contemporary silver mounting. Hinged lid with flower decoration in relief and a palmette-shaped thumb lever. A crossed sword mark next to the base of the hinge, most presumably Meissen, and a master's mark "ICS" above an assayer's mark. A minor break on the lower edge of the mug.
