Mole (Talpa europaea) above ground searching through soft turf areas for worms. Short black dense velvety fur short tail large front claws short legs
This mole was in my garden running along the borders and burrowing through softer turf areas on the surface. It seemed to be trying to find softer ground to burrow in after disturbing several areas of lawn that were damp due to a small sink pond and a bird bath. There were worms crawling out from the areas the mole was digging in so he may have been feeding. The mole was too quick for good images untill he stopped or started digging.
