Kauri is a coniferous tree of Araucariaceae in the genus Agathis native to the northern region of New Zealand's north island. Puketi Forest is one of the largest remaining Kauri forest in Northland. Manginangina Kauri Walk there offers a great opportunity to admire a magnificant part of this subtropical ecosystem on a boardwalk. Die Kauri-Bäume aus der Araukariengruppe wachsen ausschließlich im Norden der Nordinsel Neuseelands. Einer der letzten dieser Wälder ist der Puketi Forest in der Provinz Manginangina-Weg führt dort auf einem Holzsteg in einen besonders schönen Teil dieses Ökosystems mit einer Reihe alter Kauri-Bäume.
