Chief Minister Fabian Picardo talks to workers from the electrical power plant. Report - The Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo met with personnel from Gibelec electrical power station involved in a major fire last Sunday 21st April. During a visit to the power plant to inspect the extensive damage caused to the plant he spoke to workers away from the media. The power plant is presently inactive, with only the control room operational, whilst a clean-up is undertaken by workers. The Chief Minister was briefed in person by workers who had witnessed the initial explosion which led to a total black out of Gibraltar during a period of six hours. During the visit four fire fighters who had been involved in extinguishing the fire from within the building were present, some meeting the workers for the first time since the explosion took place.
