A rare of snapshot of The house at Riby Grove Lincolnshire, England (demolished 1935) - The country house, stood in the village. In 1803 Marmaduke Tomline, owner of the Riby Grove, bequeathed the house and estate to George Pretyman, ( Bishop of Lincoln), on condition that he adopted the name Tomline. Pretyman accepted the inheritance and became George Pretyman-Tomline - Bishop Tomline was William Pitt’s tutor, secretary, confidant and future biographer
