The absence of the Nordic Cross shows Greenland's newfound political freedom and fellowship with others inuitfolk around the pole. In the center of the field seen the blazing red sun above the horizon , the ice sheet and the Arctic Ocean dazzling whiteness. In inuits myths sun plays an important role.
