A fine ivory powder flask by the so-called "Meister der Tierkopfranke", Vienna, circa 1650, Circular ivory flask, carved over its entire surface. In the centres of both sides slightly domed medallions, one depicting a hare, and one showing a dog, each in front of a blooming bush. Continuous tendrils decoration with grotesque and animal heads. The spout featuring acanthus leaves decoration, two suspension loops on the sides. Small age cracks. Height 16 cm.
