A Shipibo curandero holds out a cup of Ayahuasca, a traditional Amazonian plant medicine used to induce hallucinogenic visions and altered states of consciousness and facilitate healing. The indigenous ceremony takes place in a maloca in the Amazon jungle near Iquitos, Peru. The Shaman wears a kushma, a traditional robe embroidered in the designs of his plant teachers.
