The ruins of Dendera, a small town in Egypt situated on the west bank of the Nile, south of Qena and on the opposite side of the river. It contains the Dendera Temple complex, that contains the Temple of Hathor. It dates back to the times of the Ptolemaic dynasty in the 4th Century BC and was completed by the Roman emperor Tiberius, who reigned from 14 AD to 37 AD after Egypt became a Roman possesion, part of the Late Roman province of Thebais Secunda
