A bronze model commemorating the Pioneer New Zealand aviator and inventor, Richard Pearse (1877-1953) whose flying endeavours were concurrent with those of the Wright Brothers and who's first powered flight is thought to have taken place on March 31st 1903, more than 8 months before the Wright Brothers. The 1/35 scale model is part of a limited edition of less than 50 models. They were made in the mid 1970s by NZ Designer Douglas Heath and his son Gregory Heath . This is model
