Cyprus. Hunters shoot "Game Reserve Area sign" full of holes. Songbirds beware!

Famagusta is the single most dangerous place in the Mediterranean for birds, totalling 689,000 deaths in one year, according to data gathered from 2014-15. I have been on a few bird watching trips to Cyprus and I don't think I saw one of these signs that was not blasted full of holes. The message is quite clear, this is what they think to GAME RESERVE rules! 25 million birds of over 450 species are estimated to be illegally killed or taken alive in the Mediterranean region each year. The birds affected by illegal killing include the Blackcap ( million individuals per year), European Turtle-dove (300,000-900,000 individuals per year) and Song Thrush (700, million individuals per year), among many others.
