A cavalry armour, Deccan, 17th/18th century. Heavy, long-sleeved shirt of mail with slit on the back, made from riveted iron rings, the breast part and the outer sleeves made from particularly strong mail. The breast furthermore reinforced by plates worked into the mail, three pairs of clasps (one clasp is missing), the back reinforced by means of five long rows of overlapping lames. Condition appropriate to the age with several defects in the mail.
