Light micrograph of a wall of a cross-sectioned elastic artery stained with the orcein method counterstained with light green. The method allows a clear distinction between the tunica media with abundant elastic lamellae (stained brown with orcein) and the tunica adventitia is rich in collagen fibres (green).
