After climbing the steep rocks the rockhopper penguins (Eudyptes chrysocome) reach the breeding colony high above the sea. At an age of ca. 10 days the chicks are still guarded by one of the adults which take turns at giving them shelter from the sun, the wind and predators. [size of single organism: 50 cm]
