One of Britain's finest beech hedges. The hedge itself is now over 100 years old and consists of more than 150 individual trees. The trees were originally planted as part of a mixed deciduous boundary to separate the Garden from the land beyond, which was then grazed by cattle. Length 165m / 540ft. Height: 8m / 23ft.
