On the left, a larva planula passes to a fixed polyp stage, which reproduces by a phenomenon called strobilation. The larvae planula (left ) are fixed on the bottom and develop into polyps (bottom left) on which appear strangulations that make them look like a stack of plates (strobiles bottom right). They eject one after the other. This is called develop in juvenile jellyfish (or éphyra in the upper right), then adults (top left), able to reproduce.
