A computer interfaced sensor measuring the temperature change of an exothermic exergonic reaction between aluminum and cupric chloride The graph shows a steady increase in the temperature of the system after the aluminum foil ball was added The reaction occurs spontaneously in water and releases a substantial amount of heat The enthalpy change indicates it is chemically an exothermic reaction The release of free energy in the form of heat indicates that the process is exergonic
