The Huangshan Mountains are a cluster of 72 granite intrusion peaks in a 152-square-kilometre area of southern Anhui province of China. They have been a World Heritage site since 1990. Medium to fin grained porphyritic orthoclase granite, consisting of K-feldspar and quartz with biotite and plagioclase. This area of China is the inspiration for the traditional chinese paintings dipicting mountains and pine trees.
