The last of the great Lutheran hymn-writers belonging to the period of the Thirty Years’ War was Martin Rinkart, or Rinckart, a German Lutheran clergyman and hymnist best known for the text to "Now thank we all our God", which was written ca. 1636 and translated into English in the 19th century by Catherine Winkwort. A Kampf was a German painter who died in 1950.
