Images of the 9 residential apartments, known as "Reversible Destiny Lofts- In Memory of Helen Keller", in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan, on Thursday July 6th 2006. The 9 apartments were designed and built by Arakawa and Madeline Gins "scientist- philosopher" architects based in New York. The concept of the apartments is to help people re-connect, reconsider and examine minutely their living space. Each loft apartment comes with a set of directions for use to help the inhabitant make the most of what the space offers. "Its living spaces prod and coax residents to figure themselves out so that they may come to live forever".
