Long-nose Chimaera


A long-nose chimaera (Hariotta raleighana) swims into view. Cimaeras are cartilaginous fishes related to sharks. This one was filmed in the Gulf of Mexico, Green Canyon Area, St. Tammany Basin at ~1500 meters depth, using a remotely operated vehicle. Okeanos Ocean Explorer, Gulf of Mexico 2017.
