Behind the scenes at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London

Hybrid species Many of the species on public display are grown in the nursery. To increase diversity and further their understanding of a plant's DNA, staff at the nursery breed and develop hybrids. This Nymphaea hybrid is known as Kew's stowaway blues. It was developed to provide longer flowering periods for public display.
