St Mary le Bow, church in the City of London, by Christopher Wren, 1670s arched doorway

St Mary le Bow, church in the City of Londoon, rebuilt after the Great Fire of London (1666) by Christopher Wren, 1670-1680. Based on an engraving by Francois Mansart for the Hotel de Conti in Paris. Within a rusticated surround, two cherubs sit either side of an oval window draped with garlands of flowers. Cherub on the right is singing from a music book, accompanied on teh lyre by the cherub on the left. Below this is a Doric entablature with more cherubs in the metopes, the spaces between the grooved triglyphs.
