The Old McHenry County Courthouse that was built in1857. The structure, built in the Italianate style, was designed to resemble the Cook County Courthouse at the time, but that building was destroyed during the Great Chicago Fire. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout the year, Woodstock is host to numerous events including Groundhog Days that celebrates the community acting as Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania in the famous Bill Murray film 'Groundhog Day.'
