A sabre for generals, Directory Period, Broad widely fullered blade, the gilt knuckle bow hilt with helmed pommel, the guard with a beaded pearl decor, the quillon with floral engraving, copper wire grip wrap. Blackened leather scabbard with gilt fittings in relief, the ornamentation consisting of trophies, flambeaus and a sun-head, two carry rings, gilding refreshed. Length 104 cm.
