Whitefriars James Powell ribbed green glass carafe. The carafe measures 21cm high. the base has a ground and polished pontil. The neck is un-ground indicating that the carafe had no stopper. Please see page 114, plate 79 in the excellent book ‘Whitefriars Glass, The Art of James Powell & Sons‘ by Lesley Jackson for an example of this carafe. The condition is good with no chips, cracks or any repairs but there is some glass oxidation to the inside, which is mainly at the neck, see photograph where I have indicated this with an arrow.
