Falassarna (or "Falasarna") beach on the northwest of Crete in Hania prefecture, Greece

One of the most beautiful beaches of Crete, is located at the western shore of the island, very close to the ancient town of Falasarna, (harbor of ancient Polyrrinia), about 60 km west of Hania and 20 km west of Kastelli. Exotic beach with crystal clear water, and few rooms to rent for those who seek some days of relaxing. That pink-red color that you see on the shoreline right where the wave breaks, is caused by thousands tiny pink-red shells, that make their appearance around the end of August, start of September.
