Purple flowers of Crocus tommasinianus showing above light covering of snow. The bulbs were in full flower for a couple of days before the snow fell. The flowers are closed in the cold early morning. later in the day they will open in the warmth of the sunshine. Naturalising in garden border mulched with bark chippings. Late February
