A snail, escargo, food stall at the Djemma el Fna food market in Marrakech. At the heart of Marrakesh, between the souks and Koutoubia mosque, Djemaa el Fna has centuries of history as the meeting place for regional farmers and tradesman. Through the glowing lamps and smoke one may find everything from jugglers to teeth pullers, fortune tellers, snake charmers and fresh squeezed juice. Marrakesh, Gateway to the Sahara and the rest of Africa, is located in the center of Morocco. It is an exotic place that revolves around the trade of well-made goods. The old part of the city, the walled medina, lays within Marrakesh, it is where winding alleys, markets (the souks) and historical monuments are located.
