White-crowned lapwing (Vanellus albiceps). This lapwing has distinctive plumage. Its wings and tail are patterned in black and white, the back is brown and the underparts white. The head is mainly grey but with a white crown. The eyering, facial wattles and legs are all yellow. It mainly eats insects and other small invertebrates. Photographed in the Chobe River area of Botswana.
