The Mariachis entertaining the crowd, who were waiting to enter the show ground at the 2017 OnBlackheath Music Festival
If this band of South American cheeky chappies seem familiar it’s because you’ve seen them countless times without realising they are a real band. The official band of the Doritos TV commercials, their Mexican musical magic has been applied to pop classics such as The Human Leaugue’s Don’t You Want Me, East 17’s Stay Another Day and Joan Jett’s ‘I Love Rock & Roll’. The band’s four members all hail from South America and have appeared at major musical festivals including Glastonbury, Wireless, Henley and Cambridge. They’ve also brought their fun-filled tunes to TV shows such as Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Strictly Come Dancing. Join us and see them in the flesh, not on the small screen! Formed by Salvador Jimenez Hernandez, the band all hail from South America and currently reside in the UK. Consisting of guitars, accordion and trumpet, all the band members are highly accomplished musicians and singers. The band perform many other pop hits along with traditional Mariachi repertoire including songs like La Bamba, Guantanamera and Lambada. Having performed acoustically for the Royal family to appearing in front of 30,000 people at the Wireless music festival, they compliment any event no matter how large or small. The band headlined the Avalon Stage at the Glastonbury Festival and have become the ‘go to’ band for UK TV shows requiring a Mariachi band, with performances on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Take-Away, The One Show, Good Morning Britain, A Question of Sport, Let’s Do Lunch, A League of Their Own, Graham Norton, Paul O’Grady, Sunday Morning Live, Peter Andre and Sunday Brunch. June 2016 saw them supporting Rod Stewart on his UK stadium tour along with the release of their summer single ‘Rhythm of the Sun’.
