Cottage stairway with potted flowering plants in the Fife coastal town of Culross. Culross which is pronounced 'kooros', is a beautifully restored village containing the finest surviving examples of Scottish vernacular architecture from the 16th and 17th centuries. The National Trust for Scotland has been working in Culross since the 1930s to conserve its historical past.
