Glacial silt plain at the head of Lauteraar lake, Bernese alps, Switzerlland
The upper end of Lauteraar hydroelectric lake , the area shown in this picture, is part of a nature preserve of national importance in Switzerland. It is however endangered, because the power utility company Kraftwerke Oberhasli KWO wants to build the existing dam higher and flood the area.
