Replica Wagon at Causey Arch. The arch dates from 1725 is said to be the oldest surviving single-arch railway bridge in the world and originally carried horse drawn wagons on wooden rails across Causey Burn on a route carrying coal from Tanfield Collery near Stanley in County Durham to the river Tyne. The arch now carries a public bridleway.
