Margaret Burbidge at a guest lecture event at the Mount Holyoke College Department of Physics in spring of 1974. Eleanor Margaret Burbidge (1919-2020) was a British-American observational astronomer and astrophysicist. She was one of the founders of stellar nucleosynthesis, worked on galaxy rotation curves and quasars, and helped develop the Faint Object Spectrograph on the Hubble Space Telescope.
