The massive scree of chalk debris from a landslide which occurred overnight on 30th April 2013 when the cliff collapsed at St Oswald’s Bay on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset. The landslip was triggered by the heavy rainfall of the previous few months, which had soaked into the chalk. The added weight of the waterlogged ground caused the cliffs to become dramatically unstable. Fortunately the event happened in the early hours of the morning before anyone was about and nobody was hurt.
