A finely carved powder flask,northern India,Mogul,2nd half of the 17th century. A horn body eight-fold segmented,carved with stylised poppy blossoms and inlaid ivory pins. The rear ivory end carved like a ribbed mogul cupola with a tin frieze on the bottom and crowned by a lotus bud. Ivory spout inlaid with lacquer and with a carved plug shaped like an ibex. Four carrying loops made of silver. Except for three small ivory pins that are missing in beautiful condition.
