Autoradiograph showing "DNA fingerprint" results from a rape investigation
The "DNA fingerprint" shows that suspect 1 is a match with the sperm DNA. Suspect 2 and the husband can be excluded because their DNA is not a match with the sperm. This does not prove that suspect 1 is guilty but it does "include" him and, combined with other DNA probe results, would yield a probability of his guilt.
