Alexander Wilson, 1766 – 1813. Scottish-American poet, ornithologist, naturalist, and illustrator. His work, including American Ornithology; or, the Natural History of the Birds of the United States, was an inspiration to naturalist John James Audubon. After a work by Charles Willson Peale.
