Sperm whale tissue analysis. Microscope slides containing tissue from a dead sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) undergoing staining. The sample came from a dead male sperm whale that was found on Henne Strand, Jutland, Denmark. The specimen measured 14 meters in length and weighed an estimated 30 tonnes. Photographed at the National Veterinary Institute in Copenhagen.
