Two drake Mallards feeding by submerging themselves in a lake.

These two Mallard drakes are in a bottoms up position as they feed on plants or tiny mollusks in a lake. They're considered puddle or dabbling ducks and never dive for their food, preferring to tip themselves and forage in shallow water.
