Atlas of the Rare Vascular Plants of Ontario / Atlas des plantes vasculaires rares de rOntarlo ASTERACEAE Solidago houghtonii T. & G. Houghton's goldenrod Verge d'or de Houghton. HABITAT: Marshy limestone pavements and plains. STATUS: Rare in Canada. Threatened in Michigan and New York. NOTES: This polyploid species may have arisen in the Great Lakes region since déglaciation. It resembles S. ptarmicoides (Nees) Boivin and S. ohioensis Riddell and it has been suggested that it may have come from them through hybridization and subsequent chromosome doubling.
