Doncaster Council offices Sir Nigel Gresley Square Civic and Cultural Quarter Waterdale Doncaster South Yorkshire England UK GB Europe

Acting as the new focal point of new Civic and Cultural Quarter (CCQ), the new Sir Nigel Gresley Square has transformed the Waterdale area of Doncaster. The name of the square honours the legendary locomotive engineer Sir Nigel Gresley who designed and oversaw the creation of world famous locomotives like the Mallard and the Flying Scotsman in Doncaster. The architecturally appealing square features a range of comfortable seating, designer lighting, a water feature of fountains, raised lawns and flexible hard paved areas. Central to the square is a stunning eight metre high sculpture, called Danum designed by landscape architects Whitelaw Turkington.
