Yellow Iris [Iris pseudacorus]


Wild flag iris growing by the River Bradford. Out of focus lens diaphragm or aperture shaped highlights in background. Iridaceae is also the name of the Greek Goddess of the rainbow. The [iris family] is so named due to the many coulous of the plants in it. The iris has perianth segments which look like petals.
