The 1906 caption reads: "View of City of Nuremberg in the 15th century. from Hartmann Schedel's Chronicle of the world." Hartmann Schedel (1440 –1514) was a German historian, physician, humanist, and one of the first cartographers to use the printing press. He wrote the Chronicle in 1493.
