Clissold, J. M. Couttet and five guides in 1822[2][3] Mont Blanc de Courmayeur (also known as Monte Bianco di Courmayeur) (4,748 m), in the Italian part of the Mont Blanc massif, is the second-highest peak in the Alps. Lying to the south-east of the summit of Mont Blanc, to which it is joined by Col Major, the mountain can be ascended via the Bosses ridge, or the Peuterey and Brouillard ridges. The Mont Blanc de Courmayeur is marked as lying entirely within Italy on the Italian Istituto Geografico Militare (IGM) map,[4] although on the French Institut Géographique National (IGN) map the summit appears to lie on the border between France and Italy.[5] [edit] Huts Refuge Aiguille du Goûter (3,817 m) Bivacco Eccles (3,850 m) Rifugio Monzino (2,590 m)
