Couttet and five guides in 1822[2][3] Mont Blanc de Courmayeur (also known as Monte Bianco di Courmayeur) (4,748 m), in the Italian part of the Mont Blanc massif, is the second-highest peak in the Alps. Lying to the south-east of the summit of Mont Blanc, to which it is joined by Col Major, the mountain can be ascended via the Bosses ridge, or the Peuterey and Brouillard ridges.
