Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Fusarium incarnatum, an endophytic plant fungal pathogen of the mangrove plant (Aegiceras corniculatum)

Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Fusarium incarnatum, an endophytic plant fungal pathogen of the mangrove plant (Aegiceras corniculatum). It also is a fungal pathogen of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) that causes black gill disease. Fusarium is a large genus of filamentous fungi widely distributed in soil and in association with plants. Most species are harmless saprobes, and are relatively abundant members of the soil microbial community. Magnification: x800 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
