A pair of colourful Rainbow Lorikeets (Trichoglossus haematodus) rest together on a branch. These birds are quite common in the southern states of Australia, and become very tolerant of humans. They are often seen in suburban backyard trees where they feed on the nectar of such species as eucalyptus.
