A Leaf-Cutter Bee - Megachile centuncularis, sealing its nest cavity with a piece of leaf from a rose bush.

This female leaf-cutter bee has constructed her nest in an old drilled hole in a house wall. She is sealing the burrow with a neatly-cut piece of leaf from a rose bush. These bees collect pollen in hairs under their abdomen, rather than in pollen sacs.
