A distorted skull of a Nazcan, which has been photographed having previously been pillaged by a tomb robber (huaquero). The Nazcans were used to carrying out the skull deformation at the time of infancy. This was done to distinguish between varied classes in Nazcan society (Nazca Ica - Peru). Crâne déformé d'un Nazcan photographié chez un huaquero (pilleur de tombes). Les Nazcans pratiquaient la déformation du crâne pendant la petite enfance. Elle permettait de reconnaître et de distinguer les classes sociales (Nazca Ica - Pérou).
